Spring Kawaii Wine Glasses

Spring Kawaii Wine Glasses

Hello Geeky Crafters!

Today’s blog post is a special post.  Part ONE of this post will be featured as a guest post on the blog CraftingAndCooking.com.  Cassandra was kind enough to allow me to guest post on her site, so if you would like a basic tutorial on two ways to etch glass and create simple etching templates, check out her website!

Supply List

  • [media-downloader media_id=”100″ texts=”Daisy Templates”]
  • Wine glasses
  • Etching Cream or Krylon Frosted Glass Spray – Semi Transparent
  • Gloves
  • Rubbing Alcohol and Cotton Pads
  • Painters Tape
  • Xacto knife and cutting mat OR wax paper
  • Glass Paint
  • Spouncer
  • Paint brush or small polymer clay ball shaping tool

To etch the glass and complete part one of this project – visit CraftingAndCooking.com first!

  1. After the glass is etched, take a little bit of your glass paint and the spouncer and dab around the daisies.  Allow this to dry before moving onto the next step.
  2. Remove the tape around the top of the glass.  With the opposite end of your paint brush or a small polymer clay ball tool outline little dots along the edge.  Wait for this to dry before moving onto the next step.
  3. Remove the tape flowers by moving from the outside of the petal to the inside of the flower to prevent paint from coming up with the tape.
  4. Paint on little kawaii faces in the middle of the flower if you desire
  5. Allow the paint to cure.  Do this by either letting it sit for 21 days, or bake in the oven according to the instructions on the back of your paint bottle.
